Texas Medicaid Selects Incumbent Centene For Foster Care Managed Health Care Contract

On February 20, 2015, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced a tentative award to the incumbent Superior HealthPlan, Inc., a Centene subsidiary, for the STAR Health Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contract. STAR Health is the Medicaid managed care program for children and young adults who are or were in foster care. The new STAR Health contract will go live on September 1, 2015.
