San Diego County Adopts Multidisciplinary Team Decisionmaking Model For Child Welfare Hotline Calls

On January 15, 2020, San Diego County implemented a multidisciplinary Review, Assess, Direct (RAD) decisionmaking team to handle child welfare hotline reports of abuse or neglect. The development of the RAD team is one part of the county's Family Strengthening and Prevention Initiative (FSPI). FSPI includes the use of the RAD teams, along with the 211 SD CONNECT program, which is the component that will connect families to community based services.
