Iowa Medicaid Moving To Statewide Managed Care: Behavioral Health Carve-Out To End

The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) is planning to move nearly all Medicaid populations and services to managed care plans by January 1, 2016. The initiative will eliminate the state’s behavioral health carve-out managed care contract with Magellan of Iowa.  DHS released a request for proposals (RFP) on February 16, 2015 that outlines its plans and the timeline.
