2% Of The LTSS Population Transitioned To Community Annually In States With Robust Money Follows The Person Programs
In states with robust “Money Follows the Person” programs (MFP), about 2% of those receiving long-term services and supports (LTSS) in institutions are transitioned to the community each year. In 2017, states with high MFP transitioned 55.2%, or 50.5 residents per 100,000; compared to states with medium MFP, which transitioned 37.6%, or 27.4 residents per 100,000; and states with low or no MFP, which transitioned 7.2%, or 16.3 per 100,000 residents.
