Physician Payments For Children’s Office Visits 35% Lower For Medicaid Than Private Insurance

In 2015, the median per-child per visit total payment for an office-based physician visit was $126 for visits covered by private insurance, but was 35% lower ($82) for Medicaid covered visits. Similarly, the mean per-child per visit payment was $214 for visits covered by private insurance, but was 41% lower ($126) for Medicaid-covered visits.
