Ohio Medicaid Contract: Paramount Advantage – January 1, 2016

All Medicaid populations except for dual eligibles are enrolled in Ohio’s Medicaid managed care program.There are five health plans available statewide that provide health coverage. Individuals are encouraged to choose the plan that best suits their needs. A dual eligible demonstration is available in some geographic regions. The managed care contract includes a requirement for the health plans to make 50% of aggregate net payments to provider organizations through value-oriented strategies by the year 2020. The health plans must also implement value-based initiatives under the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) and the episode-based payment frameworks.
