Kaiser Permanente – Winning Proposal & Contract For Medicaid Managed Care Services To California Department Of Health Care Services, 2021

California calls its state Medicaid program Medi-Cal. The state provides Medicaid managed care through six different models. Each county is able to choose one of the six models.

This contract is for a health plan operating under the Geographic Managed Care (GMC) System. In this model, the county and the state Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) contract with two or more commercial health plans. Enrollees pick the plan that best meets their needs. Eight health plans serve the two counties (Sacramento and San Diego) that utilize this model.

This Geographic Managed Care Model contract is for the following health plan: Kaiser Permanente.
