Shelby Rocco brings a background in market research and customer service to the OPEN MINDS team. She currently serves as a Research Analyst for the OPEN MINDS Consulting Practice and supports the PsychU team. Her expertise includes the information systems management, customer service, market research, and policy research for healthcare systems.
Before joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Rocco served as the Special Event Coordinator for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. LLS is the nation’s largest voluntary health organization that provides funding for research, treatment and finding a cure for patients diagnosed with blood cancer. In this role, she was responsible for management and distribution of social media content for digital campaigns. She also assisted with fundraising efforts by coordinating and providing information and tools to both caregivers and patients.
Prior to this role, Ms. Rocco was a Program and Marketing Intern for Venture Outdoors, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Venture Outdoors is a non-profit organization that offers activities and trips for people of all ages to help make public access to nature easier. In this role, Ms. Rocco assisted in the creation and design of web pages for specialty programs offered by Venture Outdoors. In addition, she helped develop marketing strategies and ideas for organizational growth in alignment with customer data trends.
Ms. Rocco has also served as a Kids Camp Counselor and Ropes Course Facilitator at Roundtop Mountain Resort, in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania. In this role, she was responsible guiding children’s groups through ropes courses and ziplining activities.
In addition, Ms. Rocco co-founded and served as the Secretary for Duquesne Four Diamonds. This organization served to benefit the Four Diamonds Charity fund through a variety of fundraising activities and awareness promotions.
Ms. Rocco earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her focused area of study was Marketing and Information Systems Management.
