Sarah Threnhauser, MPA, brings experience in all areas of health and human services management, including strategic planning, market research, and financial management to the OPEN MINDS team.
Currently, Ms. Threnhauser is the OPEN MINDS Executive Vice President of Content Development. In this role, she directs the OPEN MINDS Education Services team, supervising the planning, marketing, and execution of five executive management events per year, and leads the OPEN MINDS Information Services team, including the development and production of OPEN MINDS management publications, which are distributed to 180,000+ health care and social service executives.
In addition, Ms. Threnhauser is the Executive Editor of PsychU and is responsible for the strategy development and oversight for the PsychU program. PsychU is a free online community for mental health professionals offering free educational resources, news articles, streaming presentations, live webinars, and localized events for its members and advocates. PsychU was established by OPEN MINDS in collaboration with a client project and has since grown to support over 20,000 members. OPEN MINDS supplies PsychU with 15,000+ articles, resources, and presentations per year for placement in the PsychU topic libraries and resource centers.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Threnhauser worked with the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), in the Bureau of Financial Operations. In that role, Ms. Threnhauser served as the liaison between the state government and local service providers and county administrators. She also analyzed and assessed the effects of fiscal regulation and policy on OMHSAS’ budget and assisted in the development and allocation of approximately $600 million in state community mental health funds and federal grants/appropriations.
Ms. Threnhauser has also served as OPEN MINDS’ Consulting Practice Manager, a role that enabled her to work on projects with state governments, advocacy organizations, child welfare agencies, county service boards, pharmaceutical and neurotechnology companies, and community mental health centers. Prior, she supported OPEN MINDS Education Services department as an Events Coordinator.
Ms. Threnhauser earned her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University and her Bachelor of Art’s degree in English from York College of Pennsylvania.
