Sally Johnston, MA, CEAP, CCBT, LPC, brings over 30 years of experience in the health and human services industry to the OPEN MINDS team. Ms. Johnston currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert with the OPEN MINDS Consulting Practice and contributes to various project engagements and provides content advisement. Her areas of expertise include employee assistance programs (EAP), strategic planning, market research and analysis, disease management, and trauma care.
Before joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Johnston served as a Senior Account Executive with Beacon Health Options for 18 years where she managed health and wellness, EAP, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), and other strategic solutions for employers and health plans across the country. In this role, she was highly involved in developing a new account management training program containing six modules focused on foundations, strategic planning, and consultative selling. In addition, she was a member of the Beach National Crisis Management Team, a member of the quality management committee, and a key contributor to their award winning website, “Building Resilience: A Workplace Strategy”.
Ms. Johnston previously served as the Director of Client Performance with Health Dialog; EAP Program Manager with J&E Associates; Projects Director with EHPAssist; and Account Executive, Aetna Health Plans for Human Affairs International (HAI).
In addition to her professional career, Ms. Johnston served as a Stress Management Cadre reservist for FEMA where she aided in crisis and devastation addressing stress, self-care, human resources and behavioral health issues at Disaster Field Office locations. Ms. Johnston has had numerous speaking engagements on the national platform at EASNA and EAPA as well as leading learning and personal growth experiences in smaller groups.
Ms. Johnston received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the West Virginia University. She has also completed graduate studies in the Master of Divinity program at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Ms. Johnston is a certified employee assistance professional (CEAP), certified cognitive behavioral therapist (CCBT), and a licensed professional counselor (LPC).
