Jeremiah Witherow brings over 5 years of experience in health and human services to the OPEN MINDS team. Mr. Witherow currently works as a consultant of the OPEN MINDS Consulting Practice where he researches and develops client projects and deliverables. His areas of expertise include crisis intervention, care coordination, case management, and program implementation.
Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Mr. Witherow served as a Case Manager for North Spring Behavioral Healthcare (North Spring), in Leesburg, Virginia. In this role, he managed and coordinated client services with local, state, and federal programs. In addition, he was responsible for development and submission of funding renewal requests and data entry for client recordkeeping.
Previously, Mr. Witherow held the role of Lead Behavioral Specialist for North Spring Behavioral Healthcare. He was promoted into this role to develop and conduct training and to serve as a new staff mentor for a team of mental health specialists. In this role, he was responsible for implementing and documenting the success of two new programs at North Spring which led to a 60 percent reduction in physical restraints.
Mr. Witherow began his career with North Spring as a Behavioral Health Specialist. In this role, he provided supervision, safety, and crisis management and facilitated daily crisis interventions for the client population. He also implemented a program activity schedule and was in charge of securing all safety and security procedures.
Previously, Mr. Witherow served as Director of Youth Ministry for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. At St. John’s he was responsible for developing programs, leading discussions, and coordinating events for teen groups. During this time he executed three new programs and instigated a unique weekly activity, which led to a 60 percent increase in attendance at all events.
Mr. Witherow is in the process of earning his Master’s in Social Work from the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, with an expected graduation date of 2018. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English, from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, Ohio.
