Daniel Furr brings over four years of experience in the health and human services field to the OPEN MINDS team. Mr. Furr currently serves as a Market Intelligence Coordinator. He is responsible for the operations of the OPEN MINDS Industry Resources library, which includes tracking industry resources from a variety of internal sources, writing summaries of reports and articles, and web publishing for OPEN MINDS 200,000 plus subscribers. He also assists the Marketing Intelligence Manager with copyediting, formatting, and publishing reports, presentations, articles, and other documents used on the OPEN MINDS website.
Before joining OPEN MINDS, Mr. Furr served the Geisinger Holy Spirit (previously known as Holy Spirit Hospital) as a Behavioral Health Specialist. During this time, he provided assistance, as well as modes of intervention, for the hospital’s clients who were in need of counseling, assessment/evaluation, screening, and referral/recommendation for appropriate treatment or disposition.
Previously, Mr. Furr served as a School PSR Worker at Access Point Family Services, an organization that provides mental health services for youth with developmental disabilities. In this role, he delivered strategic and organized plans for intervention for clients. His role was to promote the highest possible level of success – behavioral, academic – in a school environment through restoration and maintenance of interventions.
Prior to this role, Mr. Furr acted as a Developmental Specialist for The Adventure Center, Affiliates Inc., an organization that provided activities and services for adults with developmental and mental disabilities. In this role, he worked with family and service coordinators to create and implement service plans for clients in order to assist them in achieving greater levels of independence, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of those plans.
In addition, Mr. Furr served as Psycho-Social /Community-Based Rehabilitation Assistant for Odyssey Charter School. During this time, he was responsible for the design and implementation of organized service plans students with behavioral concerns.
Mr. Furr is currently in pursuit of his Master’s in Education with a focus in K-12 school counseling. He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University – Idaho.
