Hawaii Medicaid Contract: Aloha Care – January 31, 2014
Hawaii calls its managed care program QUEST Integration (QUEST stands for Quality care, Universal access, Efficient utilization, Stabilizing costs, and to Transform the way health care is provided to recipients). The state’s five health plans cover nearly all Medicaid populations and provide physical health, behavioral health, pharmacy, and long-term services and supports.Upon enrollment, Medicaid beneficiaries are assigned a plan. Beneficiaries can change health plans one time within 90 days from the date of enrollment in QUEST Integration. Once the 90-day period ends, beneficiaries can only change their health plan during open enrollment from October 1 to 31.
