Turnover & Clinical Productivity Are Most Problematic Areas Of Organization Performance; Results Of The 2017 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Executive Survey

9,000+ health and human services executives surveyed on where their organizations are on the move to value-based purchasing

Gettysburg, Pa. (February 19, 2017) — The OPEN MINDS Market Intelligence team recently released the findings of the 2017 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Executive Survey: Where Are We On The Road To Value?, which explored where health and human service organizations are on the road to value-based purchasing. Over 9,000 organizations in the health and human services field were surveyed between November 2016 and January 2017. A summary of these findings was presented by Monica E. Oss, chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS during the opening keynote presentation of The 2017 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Institute, and was reported on in The OPEN MINDS Circle Daily Executive Briefing, “Where Are We On The Path To Value-Based Reimbursement?

The results showed that executives indicate turnover & clinical productivity are the most problematic areas of organizational performance. The survey also found that over half (50.7%) of organizations do not have performance- based compensation for staff members.

The move to value-based purchasing for health and human services organizations has been described as glacial-slow, but always increasing incrementally. Organizations making the shift to value-based purchasing should ensure they are equipped with the tools and skills needed to succeed in the changing landscape.

The 2017 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Executive Survey provides a look at where health and human services organizations are in the move to value-based purchasing. The survey includes information on:

  • The number of organizations with non-governmental private contracts
  • The number of organizations with value-based purchasing arrangements
  • The percent of revenue tied to value-based purchasing arrangements
  • How organizations are managing performance

The summary of the survey results is available to all Elite-level OPEN MINDS Circle members. To learn more about becoming an Elite-level OPEN MINDS Circle member and to receive access to this and other great resources, visit https://www.openminds.com/membership/.
