GETTYSBURG, Pa. (December 16, 2018) — OPEN MINDS has announced that Lynda Zeller, Senior Behavioral Health Fellow, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, will kick off day two of The 2019 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute as the keynote speaker. Her session, Harnessing The Power Of Analytics To Create Innovative Solutions For Complex Consumers will take place from 8:30am – 9:30am on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

During her keynote address she will discuss how state Medicaid plans using advanced analytics and data management to identify programs and manage care for complex consumers, offer some examples of cutting-edge programs and/or partnerships driven by analytics, and talk about the biggest biggest impediment to using data analytics to manage care for the complex consumer population. Lynda Zeller has over 30 years of service in the fields of indigent health care, developmental disabilities support and services, community behavioral health, and managed care. Her wide-range of experience includes direct care residential, case management, information technology, quality and government relations. In her current position, Ms. Zeller focuses on the cross-cutting goals of strengthening the workforce in behavioral health systems and the seamless integration of services including social determinants of health and wellness.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Zeller served as the Deputy Director for the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. In this position, she functioned as the State Authority for all community based mental health, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities policy and services; including all publicly funded treatment, prevention and supports and was responsible for the five state psychiatric and forensic hospitals  Other past positions include the Health Services Administrator for the Michigan Department of Corrections where she oversaw the provision of all health, behavioral health and dental services for the state’s prison system and as Chief Executive Officer for the Kent Health Plan, a safety net health coverage plan in Michigan.

The 2019 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute focuses on the strategy, service line development, and innovation management tools executive teams need to move their organization from the concept of value-based reimbursement, to success in the new financial normal.
