Gettysburg, Pa. (December 26, 2018) – The role of marketing in building sustainable strategy for health and human service organizations was the focus of the December 2018 edition of the OPEN MINDS management newsletter, The Marketing Edition: The Marketing-Sustainability Link In Health & Human Services. This issue is focused on how marketing principles can be deployed as a model to improve competitive advantage in a changing health and human service landscape, and how provider organizations can build a marketing strategy with a clear purpose, a well-defined goal, and measurable outcomes.

“The health and human service field has, over time, moved from an economic model resembling local utilities to a national competitive model. That competition is focused on value to the customer—the payer, the health plan, the consumer, and/or the caregiver, depending on your organization. This is why marketing is so essential to sustainability for organizations serving the complex consumer market,” said Monica E. Oss, Chief Executive Officer of OPEN MINDS. “In this issue of the OPEN MINDS Management Newsletter, we’ve provided an overview of why marketing is so important in our current competitive market and a guide to building a marketing strategy to highlight your organization’s value proposition.”

Ms. Oss headlines the issues with her article, The “M” Word In Health & Human Services Strategy—Why Marketing Should Be Part Of The Everyday Conversation, which explores why marketing has become so vital to success in our current market and provides a strategic overview of the essential elements to building a marketing strategy. The issue also includes the OPEN MINDS “tried and true” five-phase approach to building a marketing strategy that worked for any organization in How To Develop A Successful Marketing Plan: The OPEN MINDS Guide To Marketing Strategy. As well as a deep dive into the importance of building an online marketing marketing plan in Is Your Online Marketing Plan Up to Speed? The OPEN MINDS Approach To Digital Marketing.

The edition also covers one of the key elements in developing a marketing plan: branding. The OPEN MINDS team has answered the question about why branding is so important and pulled together a list of organizations that have rebranded in 2018 in Health & Human Service Rebranding In 2018 – New Market Positioning Mergers & Acquisitions Lead The Trend. The issue also includes two interviews with organizations that have rebranded recently—exploring why they made the decision to rebrand, and what the process looked like for their organizations in A New Look For Burrell Behavioral: An Interview With Matt Lemmon, Director of Communications At Burrell Behavioral Health and From NHS To Merakey-Rebranding In Action: An Interview With Leah Pason & Trish Pisauro Of Merakey.
