In October 2013, the U.S. Census Bureau released population estimates for 1,054 micro and macro statistical areas in the United States based on type of health insurance coverage, income, and age. The data comes from the American Community Survey (ACS). ACS is an ongoing statistical survey that samples a small percentage of the population every year and provides communities the information they need to plan investments and services.
