Illinois Medicaid Behavioral Health Transformation, Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver

On October 15, 2016, the state of Illinois submitted this proposed 1115 Medicaid behavioral health transformation waiver to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The state seeks approval for federal cost sharing to allow its Medicaid programs to reimburse for residential or inpatient mental health or addiction treatment services provided to adults ages 21 to 64 in a treatment setting with 16 or more beds (institutions of mental disease).
