California Assembly Bill 187, To Delay Moving The California Childrens Services Program To Medicaid Managed Care
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is planning to move its California Children’s Services (CCS) specialty program to Medi-Cal managed care plans on a phased-in basis in certain counties. DHCS seeks to implement a Whole Child Model. Currently medically fragile children served through CCS receive services for their health conditions through CCS, but their primary care and other health services are provided by other health plans, such as Medicaid or commercial insurance.
