In this report issued in August 2014, authors Martha Burt, Carol Wilkins, and Gretchen Locke of Abt Associates, presented an analysis of Medicaid permanent supportive housing (PSH) programs in six communities. The authors analyzed factors of chronic homelessness, PSH, and Medicaid’s potential to fund health-related services for people experiencing homelessness or living in PSH. The focus was on mechanisms for coordinating and integrating health care for physical, mental, and addiction disorder conditions and supports to help people obtain and keep housing.
