Illinois Department Of Justice New Juvenile Justice Plan
On July 31, 2020, Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker announced the 21st Century Illinois Transformation Model, a new plan that will transform the state’s juvenile justice system over the next four years. The model’s plan was created by The Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), in partnership with the Justice, Equity, and Opportunity Initiative (JEO). The two organizations analyzed information from both models across the U.S., and information from the Illinois juvenile justice system.
