Florida House Bill 43: Child Welfare
The bill became law on June 18, 2020, and went into effect on July 1, 2020. The new law is referred to as “Jordan’s Law." It is named for a two-year-old child killed by his mother in 2018. It sets child welfare case oversight requirements for judges responsible for dependency cases and for law enforcement.
