Senate Bill 1510, the Illinois Nursing Home Residents’ Quality Care Initiative

On May 10, 2019, Senate Bill 1510: Nursing Home Care Act was passed. The act provides that the Department of Public Health shall adopt rules on or before January 1, 2020 establishing a system for determining compliance with minimum direct care staffing standards and establishing penalties for noncompliance with minimum direct care staffing ratios.
