California Department Of Social Services All County Letter 20-45: Extended Foster Care Program During COVID-19
On April 18, 2020, the state of California announced it will allow young adults in extended foster care to remain eligible for services if they turn 21 during the state’s COVID-19 pandemic emergency. The extended eligibility will run from April 18, 2020, through June 30, 2020. The state allocated $1.85 million to cover the additional cost. By allowing young adults in extended foster care to maintain their living arrangements, the goal is to help them avoid homelessness and food insecurity . . .
