In April 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published an updated report on nonfatal drug overdoses treated in emergency departments between 2016 and 2017. The researchers analyzed discharge data from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project’s Nationwide Emergency Department Sample.
