On March 12, 2015, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed legislation that allows the Arizona Department of Economic Security (ADES) to implement changes to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) that will reduces lifetime eligibility for cash assistance benefits from the current 24 months to 12 months. The Cash Assistance program is the component of Arizona’s TANF program that provides temporary cash benefits averaging $195 per month to a needy household in which eligible minor children reside.
