Michigan DCH Request For Applications For Regional Specialty Mental Health Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans
The Michigan Department of Community Health (DCH) sought applications from community mental health service programs (CMHSPs) and public behavioral health specialty prepaid inpatient health plans (PIHPs) able to operate one of 10 regional PIHPs. Previously public mental health services in Michigan’s 83 counties were delivered by 46 CMHSPs that contracted with 18 PIHPs. Addiction treatment services were carved out from the PHIPs and were delivered by 16 local substance abuse coordinating agencies.
