Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0 Demonstration Approval
On January 27, 2015, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Indiana’s Medicaid redesign and expansion demonstration called the Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0 (HIP 2.0). The three-year demonstration begins February 1, 2015 for current non-disabled Medicaid beneficiaries and eligible uninsured adults earning up to 133% of the federal poverty level (FPL). HIP 2.0 has two benefit packages: HIP Plus and HIP Basic, and features POWER Accounts which beneficiaries will use to pay for some of their health care expenses.
