J.J., et al., v. Wisconsin Department Of Corrections
On January 23, 2017, the ACLU of Wisconsin and Juvenile Law Center sued the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating the rights of youth confined in the Lincoln Hills School for Boys and the Copper Lake School for Girls. The plaintifffs alleged that the two facilities had excessively used solitary confinement, pepper spray, and restraints as disciplinary measures. The court later ruled in favor of the plaintiffs on June 23, 2017.
