Vermont 2014: Reforming Vermont’s Mental Health System, Report to the Legislature on the Implementation of Act 79
The Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) released the document on January 15, 2014. The document includes details about the state's ongoing transformation of its public mental health system. Vermont has been working to reform its mental health system since late August 2011 after damage from Tropical Storm Irene forced the emergency closure of the Vermont State Hospital. In 2012, the legislature directed DMH to reform the state’s system of mental health care.
