Majority Of Juvenile Offenders In Held In Public Facilities

The majority of juvenile offenders in 2010 were held in public facilities, with 90% of detainees and 61% of committed juveniles held in public facilities. About 51% of juveniles in residential placement as part of a diversion agreement replacing adjudication were also held in public facilities. The remainder were held in privately operated facilities.
