Wisconsin DHS Withdraws Proposal For Medicaid Integrated Managed Medical, Behavioral & Long-Term Care
On June 9, 2016, the Wisconsin Department of Human Services (DHS) informed the state legislature that it was withdrawing its proposal to implement a Medicaid managed care approach during the coming year that integrates medical care, behavioral health, and long-term services and supports (MLTSS). In 2015, DHS was directed by the 2015-2017 budget, Act 55, to make a variety of changes to its current long-term care program called Family Care and the “Include, Respect, I Self-Direct” (IRIS) program, which allows for self-directed services.
