Wisconsin Governor Proposes Eliminating Medicaid Wait List For Children Needing Long-Term Services
On February 7, 2017, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker proposed eliminating the Medicaid waiver long-term services and support (LTSS) waiting list for children with developmental and physical disabilities or severe emotional disturbances. In the Governor’s budget proposal, he also proposed providing additional state resources for children and family aids and other programs.
To eliminate the LTSS wait list for about 2,200 children with disabilities, the budget calls for providing $14 million in fiscal year 2017-18 and $25 million in fiscal year 2018-19. It also calls for the state to implement reforms to increase efficiency of service . . .
