VA Extends Home Health Care For Disabled Oregon Veteran For 60 Days To Prevent Nursing Home Stay
On February 2, 2018, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Disability Rights Oregon announced an agreement in a complaint filed by a veteran with a disability (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS)) who is seeking to continue receiving in-home care services, and avoid being forced to enter a nursing facility. The veteran had been receiving in-home care services for nearly 17 years since diagnosis with ALS.
