The total value of mergers and acquisition in the United States health services sector during the first nine months of 2014 reached $36.5 billion, up 5.7% over total $34.6 billion value of activity during the first nine months of 2013. Deal volume was strongest in the managed care and long-term care sectors. Year to date (YTD) managed care deal volume is up 64% over the previous year.
