U.S. Autism Prevalence Higher Among Minority Children
The prevalence of autism diagnoses in the U.S. was higher among minority children born between 2007 and 2013, than among white children of the same age. In 2017, among children aged three to five years, about 0.77% were diagnosed with autism. The prevalence rate among white children was 0.67%. The prevalence rate among black children was 0.68%. The prevalence rate among Hispanic children was 0.86%.
