Proportion Of U.S. Residents With A Disability Increases To 12.8%
The percentage of U.S. residents with a disability increased from 11.9% in 2010 to 12.8% in 2016. In 2016, among the population with disabilities, over half (51.0%) were people aged 18 to 64, while 41.4% were 65 and older. Only 7.3% of children and youth aged five to 17 had a disability, while 0.4% of those under five years old had a disability.
