The number of uninsured children in the U.S. increased for the first time since 2008. In 2017, there were 3,925,000 uninsured children under age 19 nationwide. This is an increase of an estimated 276,000 since 2016. The rate of uninsured children increased from 4.7% percent in 2016 to 5.0% in 2017.
