A bill, House Bill 6, introduced in the Texas Legislature on February 10, 2017, seeks to expand the state’s community-based foster care redesign model statewide. The provisions of House Bill (HB) 6 call for the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to implement community-based foster care in at least two additional regions of the state by the end of 2019.
