Texas Health & Human Services Commission Consolidating State Agencies
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is consolidating from five agencies to three. The current departments of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) will be eliminated by September 2017. Their programs and functions will be shifted to HHSC and other state agencies. Some programs of the existing departments of State Health Services (DSHS) and Protective and Family Services (DFPS) will be moved to the central HHSC.
