Texas DFPS Expanding Foster Care Case Rate Model To San Antonio Region

On May 6, 2019, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) issued a request for applications to expand its community-based care foster care case rate model to the 27 counties in Region 8b, which surrounds San Antonio in Bexar County. Applications are due by August 2, 2019. The model is already operating in Bexar County (Region 8a) as of February 1, 2019, under a contract awarded to Family Tapestry, a division of The Children’s Shelter.
