SynerMed Physician-Management Company Closes After Whistleblower Report
On November 6, 2017, James P. Mason, chief executive officer of SynerMed, an administrative services organization (ASO) based in California, informed employees that the company was closing as a consequence of a whistleblower report. The report to the state Medicaid agency alleged that the company had irregularities in its Medicaid claims processing, indicating that claims denials had been falsified.
