‘Umbrella’ To Expand Aging-In-Place Support Services To New Markets
In July 2019, Umbrella, a subscription household chore services for adults aging in place, announced plans to expand into new markets using funds from a $5 million seed round of funding from eight major venture funds. According to Alexis Peschiera, head of marketing at Umbrella, the funds will be used to grow the membership base, expand into new markets, and enrich Umbrella services. In the next six months, Umbrella plans to expand its service area to as many communities as possible to provide services to all members who may benefit from the assistance.
