South Carolina’s ID/RD Waiting List Reduction Waiver Approved With No Additional Budget Available
On June 15, 2017, the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) Commission approved the state’s waiver slot allocation plan for the Intellectual Disability and Related Disabilities Waiver (ID/RD) program. The plan is focused on reducing the waiting list for slots in the recently renewed ID/RD Waiver. However, no additional funding is available. Rather the plan calls for DDSN to use some vacancies created by turnover in the Community Supports Waiver to fund new ID/RD Waiver slots.
