San Diego County Launching Drug Medi-Cal Delivery System
San Diego County, California, is preparing to launch its Med-Cal Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) for addiction treatment by July 1, 2018. The DMC-ODS covers a continuum of services, including residential treatment, based upon the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for substance use disorder treatment services. On March 27, 2018, the county Board of Supervisors approved funding for the DMC-ODS, and increased the county Behavioral Health Services (BHS) addiction treatment budget from $54.6 million to $179.6 million.
