Study Identifies Factors To Modify Risk For Developing Dementia
The risk of developing dementia could potentially be modified by factors in four domains: developmental, psychological and psychosocial, lifestyle, and cardiovascular conditions. The research evidence is persuasive that the dementia risk for populations can be modified through reduction in tobacco use and better control and detection for hypertension and diabetes, as well as cardiovascular risk factors.
These findings were reported in “World Alzheimer Report 2014, Dementia and Risk Reduction” by Martin Prince, Emiliano Albanese, Maëlenn Guerchet, and Matthew Prina on behalf of the Global Observatory for Ageing and Dementia Care which is hosted at the Health Service and Population . . .
