Rhode Island Medicaid To Move Opioid Treatment Program Health Homes To Managed Care
The Rhode Island Medicaid program is moving its opioid treatment program health homes (OTP HH) from fee-for-service (FFS) to managed care. The OTP HHs provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) and counseling. The state has amended the current Medicaid managed care contracts and capitation rate to include responsibility for paying a per member per month payment (PMPM) to the OTP HHs, effective July 1, 2016. For Medicaid FFS beneficiaries, the state will continue to pay the OTP HH PMPM.
