Residents Of Polk & White Haven State Centers For People With I/DD Sue Pennsylvania DHS Over Center Closure Plans
On January 29, 2020, family members and 13 residents of the Polk Center and White Haven Center filed a federal class action lawsuit against Governor Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) to protect their rights to continue to receive the superior care that is provided at these facilities for adults with severe intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
