Researchers Developing Predictive Model Identifying Childhood Mental Health Risk
Academic researchers from the Netherlands are attempting to use predictive modeling to identify children at risk of a first-recorded mental health problem. The model uses routine health care data from primary care electronic health records, including the presence of a number of physical health complaints and health care utilization data.
Using this prediction model, the researchers identified a mental health problem in about 27.7% of children and young adults studied during the 2007 to 2017 time period. Additional findings regarding the predictive model's performance include:
