Regular Use Of Heartburn Medications Raise Risk Of Developing Type 2 Diabetes By 24%
Regular use of heartburn medications can raise the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, according to new research published in the journal Gut, part of BMJ Journals. The risk of type 2 diabetes was 24% higher among people who regularly used heartburn medications called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) compared to the risk among people who did not use PPI medications.
